Top Budget Laptops (under £250)

A customer in Storrington asked me if I could send her some recommendations for a budget-friendly laptop. I thought I'd share with you the three I picked out for her.

CHUWI GemiBook

Runs Windows 10 (supported until October 2025),
A fair amount of storage space (256 gb),
A good amount of memory (8 gb RAM),
13 inch screen with a high resolution (2160x1440 pixels).

Jumper EZbook S5

Runs the latest version of Windows (Windows 11),
A fair amount of storage space (256 gb),
A great amount of memory (12 gb RAM).
14 inch screen
An American layout keyboard but comes with a UK overlay.

Acer Chromebook 314

Runs Chrome OS* (instead of Windows).
A smaller memory (4 gb RAM)*
A smaller hard drive (32 gb)*
14 inch screen

*Chrome OS uses less space and memory than Windows, as it's mostly Cloud based which means it runs on the Internet.

Verdict

The CHUWI GemiBook performs well for everyday use but its screen is an inch smaller. The Jumper EZbook S5 has a higher specification overall (but is slightly more expensive). The Acer Chromebook 314 has a good performance and would be a good option if you don't need to run Windows.
