What is AI?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) allows a computer to think and learn, a bit like a person. If you've used Siri or an Alexa, you'll have seen AI in action. While there are concerns about its growing power, AI is already being used to develop new antibiotics and help doctors to spot diseases. 

You can also have fun using AI to generate a picture from just a sentence of text. I typed in "A leopard in a hot air balloon" (into a website call Pixl) and, in seconds, this never-seen-before image was made!
